Packing Tips for Home Goods, Home Shifting, Home Goods ::

Packing is the process of goods into boxes to make them easier for removalists to carry and to protect them while in transit.
We, Best packers movers are committed to endow with every satisfaction to our customer from packaging to relocation of the goods. This has helped us in achieving a respectable position in the industry. Having worked with some of the well known corporate houses in India, our goal is to provide the best in packaging and moving services. Timely delivery of your consignments is our prime concern.
We put forward some of the useful packing tips while you need to relocate from one city to another. The packing tips given below will help you to pack your stuff in such a manner that the goods will not get damage. Applying these tips while packing will help you relocate with all your goods with safety.

  • Start packing several weeks before your move date. Begin with things you use less frequently, such as books and knick knacks. Pack each room in separate boxes and label each box with its contents.
  • Pack one room at a time, labeling each box appropriately with a description of its contents and which room the box belongs in. Keep a detailed list of what items are packed in each box to make unpacking easier.
  • Label each box and indicate the following: (a) Which room it should go in (b) Whether it is fragile (c) If it should be loaded last so it will be unloaded first.
  • Cushion contents with packing material such as bubble wrap, newspaper or tissue. Save room by using towels and blankets to wrap fragile items.
  • Avoid loading more than 100 Kilograms into one box.
  • Pack audio-video equipment in their original boxes (Boxes provided by manufacturers). Label cables and tighten transit screws. If removing screws, tape them to the objects they are removed from.
  • Keep the following most necessary items in a single carton and make sure that it will be loaded in last since at unload time, you may get all necessary items at first.
  • Wrap items individually and always place a layer of crushed paper in the bottom of the carton for cushioning. Fill empty spaces with additional crushed paper.
  • Bring into play the strong boxes and containers that can be secured tightly. Purchase special boxes for dishes, wardrobe and other special items or confirm it with your packer.
  • Put heavy items in small boxes so that they're easier to carry and pack medicines in a leak proof container..
  • Pack as much as you can into boxes. This will provide greater protection for your belongings and will make loading your trailer much easier. Unusually shaped items take up more space and make loading more difficult.
  • Have rugs and draperies cleaned before moving and leave them in wrappings for the move.
  • Disassemble any items you can. Be aware of items with sharp corners or projections and keep them from puncturing or scratching other objects.
  • Reinforce the bottom of all boxes with tape. Fill each box to its capacity, using paper or fillers to eliminate empty spaces. The top and sides of each box shouldn't bulge, nor should they cave in when closed.

Some more tips on how you can pack these items:-

  • Beds: Tie bed frames together with tape or rope. Then label the pieces so they're easy to reassemble.
  • Bureaus: Fill drawers with clothes or fragile, well-wrapped items. Cover with a blanket or furniture pads and rope securely.
  • Tables: Remove legs, pad and tie together. Put nuts and bolts in a bag and tape under tabletop.
  • Big appliances: Empty, defrost and drain the fridge, freezer and dishwasher. Clean the interiors and put accessories in bags. Stuff towels between washer sides to prevent rotating and tape down moveable parts. Cover with blankets and tie.
  • Computers, TVs, & Electronics: Use original packaging, or buy electronic-specific boxes.
  • Small appliances: Put your microwave, VCR, etc. into boxes, and cushion with wadded paper.
  • Books: Pack them flat in small cartons, alternating bindings. Try to keep each box under 30 lbs.
  • Clothing: Pack hanging items, including drapes, in wardrobe boxes. Leave small items in drawers.
  • Collectibles: Wrap fragile items in bubble wrap and tape securely.
  • CDs: Pack upright and cushion with newspaper.
  • Kitchenware: Stack pots & pans, and cushion with paper. Put a few of these items in the "open first" box.
  • Dishes: Never stack them flat. Wrap each piece in bubble wrap. Pack plates & saucers on edge, with cups & bowls placed around them.
  • Chairs: Wrap arms & legs with bubble wrap. Leave slipcovers on or buy chair bags for protection.
  • Bicycles: Loosen the handlebars and turn them sideways. Cover chains and pedals to keep grease off other items.
  • Mirrors, artwork & frames: Wrap small pieces in newsprint and pack in mirror boxes. Cover larger pieces with cardboard, tape securely and stand them along the truck's sides or inside wardrobe boxes.
  • Plants: Put in plastic bags with air holes, then in boxes. Water before you leave.
  • Power and garden tools: Wrap all sharp edges and use plenty of cushioning to prevent injury. Tape long-handled tools together and place small ones in boxes.
  • Lawn mowers/yard edger’s: Empty gasoline from all tanks, and check for oil leaks.
  • Garage & attic stuff: Use medium-sized boxes for spray paints, brushes, car waxes, etc. Throw away oily rags or anything combustible.
